Made To Love

MADE TO LOVE
Vignettes
with love,

Susan and my little one

This is a picture of Isabelle's third birthday. We went to a local diner, had dinner, and finished it off with this yummy cake. I can't believe my Izzi is already 3! Thank God for such a joyful child! He gave us exactly what we needed....now that's love...

The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.

Thomas Merton

Welcome and receive one another, then, even as Christ has welcomed and received you, for the glory of God.
Romans 15:7
It's morning... a super sized coffee is in my mind...I'll take it BLACK....in 20 minutes it will be time for my little one's tumbling class...hmmm little one can't drive yet....sigh....Husband walks in the room....are you thinking what I am thinking? He says he will take our daughter to tumbling...now that's LOVE.....

KATE....is the Sunday School Director at my local church. She met me at Corrado's...a FAB place to get your produce in town.  It's customary for us to meet there so she can hand me my Sunday School lesson plan....jk...we were both in the area....I needed lettuce and milk and she needed tomotoes...hey...why not meet at the grocery store by the crate of apples:) Upon arrival, Izzi bellows out a big friendly, "How did you get here so fast?" Next thing I know Izzi is listening to each of  the big, red, juicy tomatoes. Kate said she was listening to hear what they had to say....she opened her plastic bag, and Izzi helped her "listen" to the tomatoes and placed them carefully in Kate's bag. Their relationship is so.....special....now that's love.

Yesterday... my three year old
and I went to the carnival. We
were waiting in line to ride
the ferris wheel. When it was our turn to get on...a
man got off the ferris wheel with what it looked like
his mother. They were both smiling as they were getting
off. He first...and then she...following behind
him...She had a severe hunched back and was probably around
70. I would never have thought she would have been
comfortable up there or in the seat with a bar pushing her back
up against the metal seat. He held her hand, and they walked
off the ride with smiles in victory....now that’s love.

Seabass and Oz....

My sister told me the other day that her two year old
fell and hurt himself...His big ol’ brother...he’s
three...opened his arms and said....”Come here...it
will be ok.” And then he hugged him and kissed
him....now that’s love.

BUD AND SHADOW

Get ready for this one....About 20 years ago...
Our families black mutt dog and beagle were missing.
Bud and Shadow...they would go on walks by
themselves...two by two....one day Bud the beagle came
to my sister and was barking at her. Every time she
tried to approach Bud, he’d back away. She kept
following him in her car because he wouldn’t let her
approach him. He finally stopped at the edge of a large
pond. Shadow’s paws were holding on to the edge of the
pond. He was waste high in the water. He had been
holding on for dear life for who knows how long...Bud
went to get help for his dearest friend and
brother....now that's love.

Jesus came down from the heavenlies...from a perfect
place...was born into a human baby body...in a feeding
trough amongst animals, never sinned, and then was
brutally killed for our sins, so that every time God
looked at us, he saw holy and righteous people because
of his son’s blood covering us....now that’s love.

FOR MOTHER'S DAY

For mother’s day my daughter’s
preschool had a Mommy and Muffins
day...Are the moms were asked to
report at 10 am...We moms lined
outside the classroom. Miss Cathy
opened the door and let us in...the
children were all seated in their
chairs with a flower in a pot
decorated by our children. There
was a chocolate bar and my daughter
with the biggest smile I have ever seen. She gave me a
bears hug and squeezed my head tight. She said, “I made
this for you!” And pressed the flower pot into my hands.
She was so happy I was there....now that’s love.

TREAT YOURSELF

This is my all time favorite desert! A
peanut butter and chocolate cupcake
from CRUMBS. One day when I was at the
mall, I stopped at the CRUMBS kiosk
and bought one. Treat yourself to
something you love..Because you
deserve it! Now that’s love...when you
can love yourself...you can love
others:)
